Phonics Readers, Usborne

Phonic Readers, from Usborne publishing house

The Phonic Readers is a collection of children`s English books, that help reading skills. The collection contains twenty, funny, animal stories. You will find stories that range from home pets to wild animals as well as tales about a frog and many more creatures.  Each story fits onto sixteen pages. There is one or two sentences on each page and the sentences are built to catch the child`s ear. The titles and the stories are based on rhymes so that the children can easily remember them and associate them with something. (“Fox on a Box”, “Bee Makes Tea”, “Toad Makes a Road”). Children get an additional task in some books to find a yellow duck on each page. Some of these tasks appear, for example, in “Mouse Moves House” or “Ted in a Red Bed”.

The Phonic Readers collection has got fantastic illustrations which stimulate the child`s imagination. It is not only a pleasure to read and watch but it offers a lot of grammar knowledge for parents. I’m sure that parents who do not have great English skills, can easily read these books thanks to simple sentences and pictures matched to what is written.

The books are bound in soft covers and all fit into a handy cardboard package. This is practical because they take up just a little space in your child’s library. This can also come in handy when traveling.

Below you will find cover pages of all books and more photos for two of them: “Snail Brings the Mail” and “Underpants for Ants”. Just take a look and see how you can experience both great fun and learning at the same time. I really recommend it for preschoolers.
